About the CPD Quality Collective
Founded in 2015, the CPD Quality Collective are a group of educational and training professionals who came together to work to ensure high standards in CPE (Continuing Professional Education).
With over 100 years of teaching, training and education experience, the advisory committee work together to help raise and maintain standards for adult learning and development.
Our standards and certification is internationally accepted and courses and training we have certified have been used in over 30 countries worldwide and by some of the biggest educational establishments and training providers. We support the CPD needs and policies of institutions worldwide and we assess training courses and materials as an independent organisation to ensure they support CPD with high quality teaching.
Our Goal and Role in CPD
As you may have noticed in our page on CPD Sectors (and their requirements), different sectors in business have their own CPD requirements and needs.
Fields including accounting, dance, the building trade, and just about any field of learning and business that you can think of, use CPD.
CPD occurs in a few different scenarios.
1) Organisations and groups that you become a member of often ask their members to do a certain number of hours of CPD (development and learning each year).
2) Companies sometimes ask their employees to do a certain number of hours annually also.
In both cases, a lot of the CPD development is left up to the individual and this self-development can come in many forms such as attending conferences, workshops, self-study, online learning, attending a course or workshop and so on.
In most cases, the individual is asked to document the CPD hours they have built-up, i.e. by documenting it in the form of a CPD diary and by collecting their certificates.
The role of CPD certification in all of this is that courses that have our seal of approval, will have been checked against pedagogy standards.
As an independent entity with experts in education and training, we are in the unique position to understand and be able to judge the standard of training courses and materials and to certify that they meet our CPD standards.
